It’s here! After waiting months on the library hold list (there are currently 194 requests!), it is my turn to read this book. I am a huge fan of Khaled Hosseini, & devoured his other two books, The Kite Runner, & A Thousand Splendid Suns. His stories are not suspenseful per say, but they are captivating, meaningful, & at times, tragic. I was never one to chase books devoted to other cultures (for example, I never got into Amy Tan’s work), but each of his books take place in Afghanistan, and immerse you in Middle Eastern culture. However, it is never overwhelming, and is very interesting. I am on the second chapter & already drawn in! I highly recommend his books for a good read.
"An emotional, provocative, and unforgettable novel about how we love, how we take care of one another, and how the choices we make resonate through generations.”
